Paintings of The Netherlands

It’s been a busy and fun summer and I’ve realized I didn’t write about my trip to the Netherlands. Chantal and I went in May and had an amazing time touring the country. We saw so much incredible art, and not just the usual heavy hitters of van Gogh or Rembrandt, but we took in the amazing Frans Hals museum, Anton Pieck museum in Hattem, The Kroller-Muller Museum in De Hoge Veluwe National Park, and our absolute highlight – the Rien Poortvliet Museum on Tiengemeten, a little car-free island only accessible by ferry. I would highly recommend any of these museums but above all the Poortvliet museum is worth it, even if you’re in Amsterdam for a few days, try and make the trip down.

We painted and drew a LOT on this trip and are selling prints of our work. Mine are here. We packed our stools and sketchbooks and painting kits and painted so many beautiful places. Here are the results of my plein air paintings in The Netherlands.
